Huskies Celebrate Senior Night With 2-0 Win Over Rutgers

SEATTLE โ Washington men's soccer continued its hot streak, recording their second consecutive shutout and third straight win in a 2-0 victory over Rutgers on Friday night.

UW moves to 7-4-5 on the season and even its conference record at 3-3-3. The Huskies close out the regular season home slate with a record of 6-1-2 on Montlake.

Jadon Bowton notched his second consecutive clean sheet and fifth of the season. He added a save to bring his season total to 41.
ย
The Husky offense applied the pressure the entire night, forcing 22 shots with eight coming on goal. The defense held Rutgers to just four shots and only one on goal.

Chris Peretti recorded his first career goal in the 23rd minute, firing a header inside the box to give Washington a 1-0 lead. Richie Aman and Peter Kingston recorded assists.

Following the goal by Peretti, 12 Huskies have contributed goals this season.

After a slow start to the second half, the Huskies forced a corner kick in the final minutes of the contest. Peter Kingston took it from the near side and found Caden Buckley in the box the pass found Egor Akulov who sent in his second goal of the season to double the lead.

UW returns to the pitch for the regular season finale on Sunday, Nov. 9 at UCLA. Kickoff is set for noon and airing on Big Ten Network.
