Everyone Scores In Third Straight Game As Huskies Beat Siena, 94-51

SEATTLE – The Washington women's basketball team (3-0, 0-0 Big Ten) defeated Siena College 94-51 (0-2, 0-0 MAAC) Sunday afternoon in front of 2,137 fans inside Alaska Airlines Arena.
The Huskies started out hot and never looked back in their first ever matchup with the Saints. Siena scored the first bucket of the game, but Washington went on to outscore the Saints 33-10 in the opening quarter – tying the second most points scored in a quarter by the Dawgs (34 in the second quarter last season vs. N.C. Central was the most in a quarter).
Dalayah Daniels had six of the Huskies' first nine points on her way to a 12 point (6-of-8 shooting), five rebound performance in just under 20 minutes.
Seven Dawgs slotted eight or more points Sunday – as everyone scored for the third straight game -- led by Elle Ladine who notched her third straight double-digit outing in as many games with 21 points and a career-high five three-pointers.
Washington connected on 14 three pointers, eight of those coming in the first half, on the way to a 50 percent shooting mark from behind the arc (14-of-28). While firing from distance, UW limited Siena to just two three-pointers (2-14) and 33.9 percent shooting (20-for-59).
The Huskies' 33-point first quarter was sparked by a 19-0 run to go up 26-4 on the Saints, who were held to 15 or fewer points across all four quarters.
Washington followed up a dominant first with an equally strong second quarter (26), putting up 59 first half points on 65.8 percent first half shooting (61.5 percent from three).
Chloe Briggs registered a career-high 15 points on a nearly perfect 7-of-8 shooting, 13 of those coming in the first half and in just under 22 minutes of action.
Hannah Stines contributed 14 points (4-of-7) and a game-high five assists, while Teagan Brown added nine to go along with two rebounds and two steals.
Tayra Eke pulled down a game-high nine boards as UW outrebounded Siena 43-28.
Washington has shot above 50 percent from the field in two of its three games this season and has recorded nine or more threes.
The Huskies return to Alaska Airlines Arena to host Eastern Washington on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. before heading to Montana on their first road trip of the season.
