HENLEY-ON-THAMES, U.K. – A Washington women's four lost its Town Challenge Cup quarterfinal race vs. a crew from Leander Club Friday, on day four of the Royal Henley Regatta.
The Husky crew fell to Leander's "A" entry, which had beat another Leander crew on Thursday to move on to the quarterfinals, by 2 ½ lengths.
Saturday, Washington's 2024 national champion men's eight will race at Henley for the first time this year, in one of two Grand Challenge Cup semifinals. The Huskies will face Princeton Training Center and Craftsbury Green Racing Project, a crew comprised from the U.S. Under-23 National Team pool, at 4:00 a.m. PT (noon GMT).
The Princeton/Craftsbury crew beat an entry from Rowing Canada by 2 ¼ lengths on Friday to move through to the semifinals, while Washington was seeded directly into the semis.
