Husky Student-Athletes Equal GSR Record
November 19, 2025 | General, Student-Athlete Academic Services
SEATTLE β For the second year in a row, University of Washington student-athletes reached a record level of academic success with a Graduation Success Rate (GSR) of 94, announced in the latest report today by the NCAA. That mark matches Washington's highest GSR, also achieved in 2024.
Β
The current GSR reflects the success of Husky student-athletes entering the university between 2015-18.
Β
Washington tied for No. 3 in the Big Ten with its score of 94. This is the seventh year in a row that UW student-athletes have achieved a GSR above 90, with 2024 and 2025 setting the new benchmarks.
Β
"Academic success is an essential part of the student-athlete experience at the University of Washington," said Director of Athletics Pat Chun. "The GSR is one indicator of success, and this year's numbers reaffirm the commitment of student-athletes to earning a meaningful degree at a world-class institution."
Β
Eight UW teams led the way with perfect 100 scores: Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Women's Cross Country/Track & Field, Gymnastics, Softball, Women's Tennis, and Volleyball.
Β
Men's Basketball was one of only three Big Ten programs to score 100 (Northwestern, Michigan), and Football ranked third in the Big Ten with a score of 93 behind only Northwestern and Wisconsin.
Β
A complete and searchable Graduation Rates Report is available online, atΒ NCAA.org.
Β
The GSR is the percentage of student-athletes earning a degree within six years, and was developed by the NCAA to account for transfer student-athletes and mid-year enrollees, and does not include those who leave an institution while they were academically eligible to compete.
