Colorado Tops Washington In Acrisure Classic Title Game

PALM DESERT, Calif. (AP) -- Colorado defeated Washington 81-68 on Friday in the championship game of the Acrisure Holiday Classic.
Quimari Peterson scored a season-high 18 points for Washington (5-2) and tied a season-high four three-pointers.
Desmond Claude added 14 points and four rebounds for the Dawgs, his second double-digit scoring game in three games.
Wesley Yates III chipped in nine points and seven rebounds and Franck Kepnang pitched in six points and a team-high nine boards. JJ Mandaquit had eight points and a UW-high six assists, totaling 12 assists on the two-day tournament.
Colorado led throughout the first half and the score was 47-30 at halftime. Washington scored the first seven points in the second half, going on an 11-4 run sparked by four points and a monster block from Kepnang.
A 15-1 run by the Huskies tied the score at 52 with about 11 1/2 minutes left but Washington never took the lead.
Washington will open up Big Ten play with a visit from UCLA on Wednesday, Dec. 3. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. in Alaska Airlines Arena.
