
UW Concludes SoCal Weekend With 11-0 Win At CSUN

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – Washington softball concluded its trip to Southern California with an 11-0 five inning win over CSUN on Monday afternoon at Matador Diamond. UW improves to 9-7 on the season.
Rylee Rehbein (1-1) threw her second shutout of her career, and first as a Husky. She struck out three with two hits allowed.
Seven Huskies tallied hits in the contest with Giselle Alvarez, Alycia Flores and Ava Carroll having two each. Annika Ticen had her first career hit in fifth inning. In total Washington recorded 10 hits on the day, the third time this season with 10 or more.
With Sophi Mazzola reaching on a hit by pitch and advancing the second on her sixth stolen base of the season, Jadyn Glab hit a fly out to center that was dropped to allow Mazzola to score. Alvarez followed with her fourth home run of the season for a 3-0 advantage after the first inning.
The Huskies brought across eight runs in the fourth behind four doubles by Alycia Flores (twice), Ava Carroll and Alexis DeBoer. Tia Durst sent her first career triple out to right center field, scoring a pair of runs. Four walks in a row loaded the bases for Alvarez who drove in two more runs. Back-to-back doubles for Flores and DeBoer plated the final runs of the inning.
Up next, the Huskies travel to Honolulu for the OUTRIGGER Invitational beginning on Wednesday. Washington will face Jackson State, Howard and Hawaii in a six-game weekend. View the entire weekend schedule on GoHuskies.com.
