Successful First Day At The Diablos College Invitational For Huskies

SEATTLE - The Huskies won their first match up of the Diablos College Invitational today against Utah State.

Two wins in the doubles round from Cesar Bouchelaghem and Dzianis Zharyn as well as Nedim Suko and Soham Purohit placed the Dawgs in a 1-0 lead. The singles round led to similar results with wins from Zharyn, Rohan Belday and Purohit clinching the victory for Washington. The match ended with a 4-0 score.

With a win under their belts, the Dawgs moved onto the next round of the tournament taking on No. 14 Arizona.

The Huskies continued the momentum into their evening match up, winning the doubles round in a couple of tough fought battles. Belday and Brett Pearson along with Suko and Purohit won their matches, securing the doubles point for the Dawgs.

The match is not over yet though. With a full singles round still to be played, the match will continue tomorrow. Singles play will kick off at 9:00 a.m. PST/10:00 a.m. MST. The winner of this match will move on to the next round, taking on the winner of the ASU and Boise State match in the championship round. The loser will play a match for third place against the loser of the ASU and Boise State match.
