SEATTLE β The No. 20 women's tennis team (12-2, 5-1 Big Ten) returns home for two straight weekends of Big Ten play.
The Huskies will host two early afternoon matches, first with No. 63 Purdue on Friday, March 28 at 1 p.m. and then a first-time matchup with Indiana on Sunday, March 30.
LAST TIME OUT
The Huskies are coming off two back-to-back road wins at Northwestern and Illinois last weekend, improving to 5-1 in conference play. Washington ranks third in the Big Ten behind undefeated Michigan (6-0) and Wisconsin (5-0) and the Dawgs are 8-0 on the road.
Alexia Jacobs had an undefeated weekend in Illinois, picking up two wins at the No. 3 singles spot and two alongside doubles partner Reece Carter on the top doubles court.
Sophie Luescher improved to 11-0 at No. 5 singles with a three-set win at Illinois. Carina Syrtveit improved to 10-3 at No. 6 singles with two victories last weekend as the two became the first Huskies to reach double digit singles wins this spring.
SCOUTING REPORT β NO. 63 PURDUE
The Boilermakers are 9-3 on the season (3-2 Big Ten) and have yet to win a match on the road (0-3). Purdue's three road losses came at the hands of Kentucky (1-6), Ohio State (0-4), and Penn State (0-4).
SCOUTING REPORT β INDIANA
Indiana is 7-8 on the season (1-4 Big Ten) and is also in search of its first road win (0-4). On the road, the Hoosiers have lost to Virginia Tech (0-4), Purdue (2-4), Ohio State (0-4), and Penn State (0-4).
The Hoosiers will face Oregon in Eugene on Friday, March 28 before making the trip up to Seattle for the first ever matchup between the Huskies and the Hoosiers.
