
No. 17 Washington Splits Matches To Open Hawai’i Road Trip

HONOLULU – No. 17 Washington beach volleyball team began its Hawai'i road trip with a 5-0 sweep over Chaminade on Thursday at Queen's Beach, but came up short in a 2-3 loss to Tulane in the second match of the day.
The Beach Dawgs (4-6) cruised to a dominant win over Chaminade, taking straight-set victories on all five courts. Katarina Pantovic and Lauren Wilcock set the tone with a 21-9, 21-14 win on court two, while Teila Allen and Jade Sadeiko sealed the sweep with a 21-18, 21-13 victory on court one. In exhibition play, Piper Stephenson and Reagan Peterson added to the Huskies' success with a win on court six.
In the afternoon match, Tulane (5-1) jumped out to an early lead, claiming victories on courts three and one. Pantovic and L. Wilcock responded with a straight-set win on court two, but the Green Wave clinched the match with a tight win on court five. Emma Hohenauer and Sarah Wilcock finished strong for the Huskies, earning a three-set victory on court four.
