
Win Over Indiana Leads To Undefeated Weekend For Dawgs

SEATTLE - The Huskies won their fourth straight match today on the road against No. 61 Indiana.
The Dawgs have been on a hot streak lately, winning their match on Friday as well 4-1 over Purdue.
Washington came out strong in doubles, winning two out of the three matches to take the point for the round. Wins came from doubles duo Cesar Bouchelaghem and Dzianis Zharyn as well as Brett Pearson and Rohan Belday.
Leading by a point, the Dawgs needed three wins in the singles round to clinch the match. The first win of the night came from Zharyn, taking his match in two sets over Deacon Thomas 6-3, 6-2. Indiana responded with a win of their own over UW's Stephane Kamendje, giving them one point on the board. Washington quickly came back with a win from Soham Purohit taking his match over Michael Andre 7-6, 6-1. With one point needed to clinch the win, Bouchelaghem showed his strength, taking his match in the third set over Jip van Assendelft 6-3, 3-6, 6-1. The match resulted in a 4-1 final score.
This win boosts the Dawgs to a 7-4 record in conference play and a 15-6 overall record for the season.
The Huskies will be back at home next weekend for two matches. They will take on Northwestern on Friday and Illinois on Sunday.
