October 14, 2026 | Women's Golf
ST ANDREWS, Scotland – The Washington women's golf team concluded the St. Andrews Links Collegiate on Wednesday, playing the final 18 holes of the week on The Old Course in St. Andrews.
Washington competed with Penn in the consolation match, falling 4-2 to the Quakers.
Mads Smith and Athena Ni picked up the two wins for the Dawgs. Smith recorded an even round in her match against Penn's Claire Lu (+5, 77) and Ni (+5, 77) defeated Maggie Ni (+10, 82).
"This week at St Andrews has been an amazing experience for our student-athletes," said Head Coach Anna Temple. "To have an opportunity to compete on the Old Course is a memory these young women will remember for a lifetime. While the outcome wasn't exactly what we wanted, the experience and learning that took place is unparalleled. We head back to Seattle with amazing memories, including Hannah's first collegiate win!"
Aside from Smith, Amber Li had the best performance to par of the day, going one-over par but falling to Penn's Adrienne Ahn-Upton (even, 72).
Hannah Ounap recorded a six-over performance on the final day of the tournament after winning a share of the individual title a day earlier. She was edged out by Penn's Madeleine Zang (+5, 77).
Wendy Tang notched a four-over day, going up against Sophia Lu who recorded a one-over round.
Ha Young Chang concluded her first tournament as a Husky with an 80 round, three shots off of her Penn competitor Juliet Oh.
The Dawgs will return to action when they visit the University of Hawaii for the Nanea Invitational Oct. 26-28 for the final tournament of the fall.
