SEATTLE – Six Huskies make their way to Southern California for the ITA Sectional Championships, hosted at USC. The tournament will run Thursday, Nov. 5 through Sunday, Nov. 8 at David X. Marks Stadium.
The ITA Sectional Championships serves as the last chance for players to qualify for the 2026 NCAA Individual Championships held later this month in Athens, Georgia. Six singles players from each section will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship (semifinalists, two quarterfinal playoff winners). Meanwhile, three doubles teams from each section will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship (champion, finalist, third place).
The doubles team of Alexia Jacobs and Marie Weissheim will face Cal's Millie Johanna Moerk and Laura Cilekova in the opening round. Alexia Marginean and Carina Syrtveit team up for the first time this fall as the two-seed and will open against Cal's Naomi Xu and Mao Mushika.
In singles, Jacobs – the lone Husky to compete in both singles and doubles – will face San Diego State's Azuna Ichikoa. Karolina Kozakova opens against the No. 1-seed Kate Fakih from UCLA while Jermine Sherif will compete against Tereza Polakova from Boise State.
Washington is sending three players to the NCAA Individual Championships. Weissheim qualified through being a Regional Singles Finalist three weeks ago while Nela Jandova and Marina Markina won the Regional Doubles tournament title.
Fans can follow along with scoring and a live stream on the ITA Sectional tournament page.
