November 06, 2026 | Women's Tennis
LOS ANGELES – Washington women's tennis added two more wins on the second day of the ITA Sectional Championships at David X. Marks Stadium.
To open the day, Alexia Jacobs pulled off an upset victory over the fifth-seeded Ciara Moore from Arizona. Jacobs fell behind in the first set and lost 2-6 but came back with a vengeance and won the second set in a tie break 7-6(2) and followed with a third set win, 6-2. A victory tomorrow would send Jacobs to the NCAA Tournament.
Jacobs then moved to doubles alongside partner, Marie Weissheim, and posted her second win of the day. The duo – seeded fourth in the tournament – defeated UCLA's Ahmani Guichard/Kayla Chung, 7-5, 6-1. They move to the semifinals tomorrow for a chance at punching a ticket to the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season.
Action picks up again Saturday morning with singles at 9 a.m. PT followed by doubles later in the afternoon. Fans can follow along with scoring and a live stream on the ITA Sectional tournament page.
