PALM DESERT, Calif. – The Huskies opened play today at the Alice & John Wallace Women's Golf Classic at Monterey Country Club. The Dawgs finished round one tied for 11th out of 16 teams with a team score of 303, ending the day +21 on the par 71 course.
Carmen Lim lead the Huskies with a steady one-over performance, sitting tied for 11th after the opening round. Amber Li followed at three-over and is tied for 26th heading into the second round.
Athena Ni posted a score of 78 to sit tied for 68th, while Mads Smith rounded out the Husky lineup with a score of 81 and ended the day tied for 86th. Claudia Alnajim, competing as an individual, carded a 79 to place tied for 75th overall.
"Today was a bit bittersweet," said Head Coach Anna Temple. "We did a good job on our commitments and unfortunately had a player DQ'd. We are ready to get back at it for round two and look to move up the leader board."
