BOSTON -- Junior Mia Cochran and senior Julia David-Smith raced a mile on Sunday at the Saucony Battle for Boston in the final action for any UW track athletes prior to the Big Ten Indoor Championships next week. Cochran earned herself a PR and became the fourth Husky woman to run a mile under 4:30.
Cochran finished fourth overall and was the top collegiate finisher in a time of 4:29.10, ranking fourth in school history. It also moves her up to 19th in the NCAA this season. David-Smith ran well with a time of 4:35.82, a second off her personal-best.
Last week, Washington's women's mile event squad was ranked No. 3 nationally, made up of the average time of the top four marks in one event.
