No-Hitter Pushes Washington Past Iowa 10-0
March 28, 2026 | Softball
The Huskies stay undefeated in conference play and secure their fourth Big Ten series with the win today.
Sophia Ramuno and Rylee Rehbein combined for a no-hitter, the first of the year for the Dawgs. Ramuno threw 5.2 innings with no hits, two walks and six strikeouts on the way to her eighth win of the season.
Washington improves its winning streak to 19 games.
The trio of Kaycie Burdick, Alexis DeBoer and Ally Hetzel led the Huskies offensively, each recording two hits on the day. Eight of nine Washington starters recorded a hit against the Hawkeyes, with the team putting up 10 runs on 11 hits.
Unlike game one, UW jumped out with the lead early in today's matchup, scoring three in the top of the opening frame. DeBoer and Giselle Alvarez hit back-to-back doubles, trading spots and bringing in the first run.

Ava Carroll reached first on an Iowa fielding error, bringing in another Husky run. A single by Melody Acevedo ushered in the third run of the opening inning.
An error at first base in the top of the second allowed Giselle Alvarez to reach first base and scored the fourth Washington run.
Two more scores came in the third, both offs singles by Sophi Mazzola and Burdick who helped extend the lead to 6-0.
The Dawgs were held scoreless in the fourth and fifth but erupted for four more in the sixth, ballooning the UW lead to 10 runs and ending the game after six innings.

Ally Hetzel, who finished the game 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, singled to left field to bring in the eighth run.
A Hawkeye passed ball and a sacrifice fly by Acevedo brought in two more scores for Washington, who clinched the series over Iowa with the 10-0 victory.
