
Strong Weekend for Huskies in Boise Beach Action

BOISE – Washington Beach Volleyball went 3-1 at the Boise State Beach Bash, highlighted by wins over South Florida, Florida International, and No.19 Boise State.
The Huskies opened the weekend against South Florida, earning a 4–1 victory to start play. Washington was led by a resilient three-set comeback win from Emma Hohenauer and Katarina Pantovic at the top spot. Niki Egan and Mariana Tomasova followed with a straight-set victory to give Washington control, before Mayamay Brown and Ellis Hay extended the lead. Zoe Pabarcus and Alina Urzua clinched the match with a straight-set win, sealing the team victory.
Washington returned to the sand to face No. 11 Grand Canyon, where they fell 4–1 in a tightly contested matchup. The Huskies picked up their lone point from Ella Tyus and Sarah Wilcock, who battled to a three-set victory at the No. 2 position. Emma Hohenauer and Katarina Pantovic pushed their match to three sets on court one, while several other flights featured close margins, but the Lopes secured the remaining points.
The Beach Dawgs bounced back in their third match of the weekend with a dominant 5–0 sweep over Florida International. Washington controlled the dual from start to finish, with four of five courts winning in straight sets. Hohenauer and Pantovic set the tone with a decisive win on court one, while Tyus and Wilcock secured a tight second set to maintain momentum. The lone three-set battle came from Niki Egan and Mariana Tomasova, who rallied after dropping the first set to help complete the sweep. Brown and Hay, along with Avery Towne and Alina Urzua, added straight-set victories to cap the performance.
Washington closed out the weekend with a 4–1 victory over No. 19 Boise State to finish play at the Boise State Beach Bash.
