No. 1 Washington Wins All Three Races At Oregon State Dual
April 11, 2026 | Men's Rowing
VANCOUVER, Wash. – The No. 1–ranked Washington men's rowing team won all three of its races in a dual regatta vs. No. 21 Oregon State Saturday at Vancouver Lake.
The Huskies took the top-three spots in the eights race and also won both fours races. Most of the athletes who raced in the eights also returned later in the day to compete in one of the two fours events.
The entire schedule was moved back two hours due to poor weather, but conditions were good by the time racing began. However, shortly into the opening race, one of the Oregon State crews suffered a broken oar, and the eights race had to be restarted.
Once finally underway, Washington's three crews – the varsity eight, second varsity eight and freshman eight – finished in that order, ahead of the three OSU entries. The Huskies' varsity eight finished with a time of 5:39.58, with open water back to the UW 2V8+, in 5:45.43. The Husky freshman crew (5:51.51) was third, more than 10 seconds ahead of the first of three Oregon State boats.
In the first fours race, half of the rowers from the varsity eight rowed against both halves of the second varsity eight, broken into two four-oared crews, operating alongside three crews from Oregon State.
Washington's three crews finished first through third, ahead of a quartet of entries from Oregon State. The UW varsity four finished in 6:18.54, nearly nine seconds ahead of the next Husky crew.
The day wrapped up with one more fours race, with the other the other half of the varsity eight competing as the "B" varsity four, while the members of the freshman eight populated two other shells.
The varsity group won the race in 6:21.87, head of the first of the two freshman fours (6:30.23). OSU's top entry of that race edged out the other UW freshman crew by about six-tenths of a second to take third place.

Next up for the UW men is The Dual, the annual regatta vs. longtime rival California. The Huskies and Golden Bears will square off Saturday, April 25, at Redwood Shores in the Bay Area.
