
Distance Squad Tunes Up At Oregon State

CORVALLIS, Ore. – A small pack of Husky distance runners raced at the OSU High Performance Meet today in the final competition for the distance squad before the Big Ten Championships in two weeks' time.
Six men were split between two heats of the 1,500-meters in Corvallis this evening. In the top heat of the meet, the Huskies went 2-3-4. Nathan Neil was second overall in 3:48.30, Jamar Distel was third in 3:49.09, and Isaac Briggs was fourth in 3:49.38. Cruize Corvin did the pace setting in that heat.
In another section, Parker Mong took second overall in a time of 3:53.14, a new personal best. James Crabtree was third in 3:54.31. Will Schneider finished in 4:02.92.
Ella Borsheim was the one UW woman to make the trip down. She took on the 3,000m steeplechase for the first time in her career, and finished fifth in the invite section in 11:11.62.
Saturday, the Husky jumpers, sprinters, throwers and vaulters will compete at the Desert Heat Classic in Tucson.
