Record 28 Huskies Headed To Amsterdam For World Rowing Championships

The Washington men's and women's rowing programs will both be very well represented at the 2026 World Rowing Championships Aug. 24-30 in Amsterdam. In all, 28 Huskies will compete at the World Championships, 14 men and 14 women.
Washington's contingent of alumni athletes is larger than the teams of all but five of the 53 nations that will compete at the regatta. Husky men's team head coach Michael Callahan will also be in Amsterdam, as coach of the U.S. men's pair, which is made up of UW alumni Samuel Halbert and Blake Vogel.
Huskies will compete in 10 different race categories, and for 10 different nations. The U.S. is the country with the most Huskies, as 12 UW alumni will represent the Red, White and Blue.
Also of note, four men and four women will each compete in two different events.
The 2026 World Rowing Championships get underway Aug. 24 at the Bosbaan race course, and wraps up on Aug. 30.
