Reservation and Use Policies
Reservation Policy
NTC courts can be reserved by current UW Students, UW Staff and Faculty, NTC Affiliates, UW Retirees and UW Lifetime Alumni members. The availability of reservation times is dependent upon the event schedule, including UW team matches and practices.
Reservation Guidelines
- Current registered, full-time, matriculated UW Students (Seattle Campus), UW Staff (Seattle Campus, Non-Temporary, full-time) & UW Faculty (Seattle Campus, full-time), may reserve courts up to seven days in advance. NTC Affiliates may also reserve seven days in advance. UW Lifetime Alumni (LIFE - PAID IN FULL) and retired staff/faculty (with ID card) may reserve a court six days in advance.
- Courts may be reserved at CourtReserve.com. Reservation must be on-line (no call-in reservations). A profile must be created at CourtReserve.com and approved before a reservation can be made.
- Players may only reserve one court more than 4 days in advance. All affiliates may make additional reservations up to 4 days in advance.
- ALL AFFILIATES MUST RENEW THEIR PROFILE EACH ACADEMIC YEAR AND SHOW A CURRENT AND VALID ID TO BOOK COURTS.
- NON-AFFILIATED PLAYERS MUST CREATE A PROFILE IN COURTRESERVE.COM PRIOR TO PLAYING AT NTC AND DO NOT HAVE RESERVATION PRIVILEGES.
- The person making the reservation MUST be present for use of the court and is responsible for payment.
- All person playing on the courts must check in at the front desk upon arrival for court use, and show ID if requested.
- Children under the age of 18, do not need to create a profile to play with their parents. A family member may not book a court in an affiliated members name or play without the affiliated member present.
- Donors at the $10,000 level or higher to the UW Tennis Program may reserve courts. For more information on becoming a donor, please call (206) 221-3588.
- The Nordstrom Tennis Center reserves the right to cancel any reservation at any time.
- Only Nordstrom Tennis Center instructors may teach on NTC courts.
- NTC has a 6 ball maximum on each court. Hoppers and other equipment are not allowed.
Individuals that cancel their reservation prior to 48 hours in advance will not be charged for the court rental. If canceled less than 48 hours in advance (including no-shows), the individual who reserved the court will be charged the cost of the court, no exceptions. The individual will also have their online account suspended from reservations until the court fee is paid.
Getting Ready for Your Court Time
- All players should check in at the front desk as soon as they arrive and the affiliate reserving the court must show their UW ID. Please arrive early to ensure you get checked in prior to your court time.
- The person reserving the court is required to pay in full before going onto the court. Only one payment for the group is accepted. Captains will be responsible to pay for their team.
- Forgotten/Lost ID Policy: If you forget your ID, talk with the front desk staff member. Two or more occurrences without ID may result in suspension of court reservation privileges.
- TENNIS SHOES ONLY – Absolutely NO running or marking shoes allowed. Non- tennis footwear can cause damage to the court and increase risk of injury.
- No ball hoppers, cones, ladders, etc. are allowed on court except with NTC instructors.
- No more than 6 balls on a court at a time unless with an NTC instructor.
- No food, gum, or beverages in unsealed containers on the courts.
- No swearing, yelling, spitting, racket throwing, or hitting nets/backdrops with rackets.
- Mobile phones must be on silent.
- Practice walls are not to be used if other players are in the facility – on either side.
- Non-playing visitors must watch from the mezzanine area. Children under the age of 10 must be supervised in the mezzanine area at all times.
- Children may be seated quietly on the benches or playing tennis while on the court.
- No music is allowed on courts except during UW team practices.
- When entering/leaving courts, respect any matches that are in progress and enter/leave the courts when a point has ended and there is a suitable break in play.
- If a ball is hit onto your courts from an adjacent court, pause play and return the ball promptly to the other players. If your ball goes onto another court, do not run onto their court to retrieve it but wait patiently for the other players to return your ball.
- If you would like to extend your court time, speak with the front desk staff member to make sure the court is available and pay before resuming play.
Failure to comply with these rules and policies will result in removal from the facility and possible limits on future play and reservations privileges.
