Drew Wilson enters his third season with the Washington women's basketball program in 2026–27 and his second as an assistant coach after earning a promotion prior to the 2025–26 campaign. Wilson arrived in Seattle as the Huskies' director of video and analytics and has steadily expanded his role into one of the program's key voices in scouting, player development, and game preparation.
His contributions have helped Washington reach back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances, including the program's first NCAA Tournament berth since 2017 during the 2024–25 season. As an assistant coach, Wilson played an important role in preparing one of the Big Ten's top defensive teams. His scouting work helped Washington hold eight of the 17 NCAA Tournament teams it faced to their lowest or second-lowest point total in regulation. The Huskies also finished with the highest NET ranking in school history (No. 22) while recording their most overall wins (22), conference victories (10), road wins (7) and home wins (13) since the 2016–17 season.
Wilson laid the foundation for that success during his first year with the program as director of video and analytics. He managed all film operations, prepared detailed opponent scouting breakdowns, developed analytical reports, and organized practice and game footage to support both player development and game planning. He also assisted with recruiting operations and helped build Washington's playbook, creating a seamless transition into an expanded on-court coaching role.
A former collegiate player at Centre College, Wilson earned bachelor's degrees in economics and environmental studies before completing a master's degree in entrepreneurship from Washington's Foster School of Business.
He is married to fellow Washington assistant coach Lauren Wilson.
