Volleyball Beats Oregon, 3-1

EUGENE, Ore. - Despite losing game one, the Washington volleyball team rallied to beat Oregon, 3-1, Friday night at McArthur Court for its first Pac-10 win of the season. Game scores in the match were 12-15, 15-5, 15-11, 15-4.
With the win, the Huskies improved to 5-6 overall and 1-2 in the Pac-10. Oregon fell to 6-6 on the year and 0-4 in the conference.
For the second straight match, UW sophomore Lisa Underhill set a new career high for kills. Last week against California, she posted 20 and Friday against the Ducks, she increased her personal high to 22 while hitting an outstanding .500 for the match.
Washington also got double-digit kills from three other players: Allison Richardson (19), Kristina Laffling (15) and Emily Seacat (12).
Oregon was led by 20 kills and 15 digs from sophomore star Monique Tobaggi.
After losing a 9-4 lead in game one and falling, 15-12, the Huskies stormed back to take game two, 15-5. In a stretch when the Huskies increased the lead from 5-3 to 13-4, UW freshman Paige Benjamin accounted for five kills and three blocks to lead the way. The Huskies came back from a 9-4 deficit to win game three.
The Huskies complete the weekend road trip with a match Saturday night at Oregon State.
