No. 2 UW Stops Texas In Semifinal To Set Up Rematch With LSU

AUSTIN, Texas - This time senior Jamie Graves shut out No. 19 Texas, and the Husky offense scored five runs in the second inning to beat the Longhorns for the second time today, 6-0, and advance to the Texas Invitational final against No. 7 LSU. Graves improves to 7-0 on the season, while Washington improves to 12-1. The final is Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
The Dawgs went through the order in the second frame, with redshirt freshman Jenny Topping leading off with a walk. Senior Jennifer Spediacci, who held UT scoreless in the earlier game today, also walked before Graves singled pinch runner Jessica Bork home. Junior Christie Rosenblad and senior Erin Helgeland also walked, pushing Spediacci across, and a double by junior Kelly Hauxhurst scored Rosenblad, Helgeland and Leutzinger, who had reached first on a fielder's choice.
Topping homered for the second time of the day in the third inning for the final score of the game.
