PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) - Tre Simmons scored 16 points to lead the Washington in a 68-55 win over Washington State on Saturday.
Mike Jensen added 13 points and Brandon Roy had 11 for the No. 15 Huskies (21-4, 11-3 Pac-10).
Freshman Kyle Weaver led Washington State (10-13, 5-9) with a season-high 15 points. Thomas Kelati and Jeff Varem both scored 15 points for the Cougars.
Washington led 34-17 at the half after holding WSU to 35 percent shooting from the field and forcing 12 turnovers. The Cougars wound up with a season-high 22 turnovers and shot 45 percent from the floor.
The game was tied 9-9 after four minutes, but Washington outscored WSU 15-2 over the next seven minutes. The Huskies led by 11 or more points the rest of the way. The Cougars scored the game's final 13 points against Washington reserves.
Simmons, who leads Washington with 16.1 points per game, had just five points before scoring 11 on four long jump shots on four consecutive possessions late in the game. Kelati, who guarded Simmons much of the game, was on the bench when Simmons exploded.
Nate Robinson, who entered the game as Washington's scoring leader with a 16.3 average, scored just seven points. Freshman Derrick Low defended him.
