STANFORD, Calif. - The 32nd-ranked Washington men's golf team is seventh after two rounds at the U.S. Intercollegiate, finishing the day 18-over 578. The Huskies shot rounds of 6-over 286 and 12-over 292 at Stanford Golf Course, Saturday.
The top-ranked Cardinal leads the team race by five shots at 4-under 556. Minnesota, ranked 43rd, is second at 1-over 561, with 31st-ranked UC Irvine and Oregon State tied for third at 12-over 572.
The Huskies were once again led by senior Alex Prugh who carded an even-par 70 in the first round and a 3-over 73 in the second. He is tied for 19th in the individual standings at 3-over 143. Freshman Darren Wallace is tied for 26th at 4-over 144, shooting identical rounds of 2-over 72.
Junior Zach Bixler and sophomore Chris Killmer are tied for 32nd at 6-over 146. Bixler's even-par 70 in the first round matched Prugh for the low Husky score of the day. He then shot 6-over 76 in the afternoon round. Killmer carded rounds of 4-over 74 and 2-over 72. Senior Erik Olson is tied for 58th at 11-over 151 (76-75).
Stanford's Rob Grube leads the individual field at 6-under 134 which included a 5-under 65 in the opening round. Bronson LaCassie of Minnesota and Daniel Lim of Stanford are tied for second at 3-under 137.
The U.S. Intercollegiate wraps up Sunday with tee times beginning at 7 a.m. PT.
