Individual Medalist Oklahoma State's Peter Uihlein:
“I made a good shot on 17 that I was able to capitalize with a birdie and two good shots on 18. But, Morgan (Hoffmann) played great. I played pretty solid all day.”
“Anytime you lose a player like Ricky Fowler you're going to have some tough shoes to fill. Hopefully we can keep the momentum going and see how it goes in the spring.”
“It's a great course. It was a lot of fun and the greens were tough and there were some pins in some tough spots.”
Oklahoma State Coach Mike McGraw:
“I would not expect to go to any tournament and finish 1-2-3. Peter, Morgan and Trent Whitekiller did a great job. I think between them they played 10-under par in the last 10 holes.”
“The three of them really got it going on the back nine today which was good. If they go the opposite direction we've got a different ball of wax.”
“I'm really happy with the progress we're making. We're getting better. The great thing about playing a golf course that plays so hard as this one did is that it exposes everything about you. You can't hide out here. The golf course played really hard.”
Washington Head Coach Matt Thurmond:
On Nick Taylor: “He putted a lot better today and just played well all around. It was a good Nick Taylor day. Yesterday was more of an aberration. That's more of a Nick round.”
“It wasn't a great performance, still. Nick helped us out today and Richard (Lee) hung in really well. He was a few over and made an eagle on 14 and a few tough pars down the stretch. That was really good. Our other three scorers were not very good. That's not what we're looking for. Good that we were able to hold off those other teams but we still got our butt kicked by 22 strokes.”
“I was really glad to have these conditions. There's things that you have to learn that you can't learn when you just play soft, no wind, easy conditions where you make a lot of birdies. There's something about playing extremely difficult things…this is great, we have a lot of practices planned because of this.”
Washington's Nick Taylor:
“Early in the round I didn't feel it. I was a couple over through three. I thought I could shoot a good round. Yesterday I hit the ball well but couldn't hit any putts. Today, I hit some good putts early that didn't drop.”
“The back nine I hit every green. I was hitting it well and the putter felt a lot better and my speed was a lot better.”
“If we wanted a chance to catch Oklahoma State today we needed the wind. They played really well so it went the other way, they expanded the lead. If we had a chance to catch them, today was the best to do it in and our team didn't play that well. They played really well to shoot under par on this course with the conditions they had. Hats off to them, but we'll just need to improve.”
