SEATTLE - With thousands watching live on the Fox Soccer Channel, the UW women's soccer team ended its season with a 0-0 draw in double overtime vs. Washington State on Thursday night.
It was the fourth-straight overtime victory between the inner-state rivals. UW ended the season at 7-8-4 and 3-5-3 in Pac-12 play. The Cougars are hoping to get an NCAA Tournament bid with a 12-6-3 overall record.
Five Husky seniors played their final game in Purple & Gold and were honored prior to the game. Kate Deines, Jorde-LaFontaine-Kussmann, Sarah Martinez, Kelli Stewart and Alex Webber were one of the best senior classes to go through UW, helping lead the Huskies to their second-ever Elite 8 appearance in 2010.
Washington State put the pressure on UW early but the Huskies gained momentum as the game went on as both teams had several great looks on goal. The two goalies in each end, LaFontaine-Kussmann for UW and Gurveen Clair for WSU, each made several game-saving saves.
UW had 20 shots, eight on goal while WSU took 12, three on goal.
Sophomore Lindsay Elston had a team-high five shots.

Head Coach Lesle Gallimore: "As a group they came in as freshman and then helped get us to the tournament. They had a lot on them when they got here and they rode with it and put it on their shoulders. The entire time they were here they never caved under pressure or looked elsewhere for solutions. They looked at their teammates and said we have as much a part of this as everyone else does."
Kelli Stewart: "It's an amazing thing that we got going here. The girls, the coaches, the fans...as far as endings go it was pretty great but I'm sad for it to be over because it's the best four years you could ask for, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else."
Kate Deines: "All I can say is it's been an amazing four years. I wouldn't trade my experience here at UW for the world. I may be biased but I really do think we have the best set of teammates and coaches you could ask for. I'm so blessed and I'm sad it's over."
Alex Webber: "It's really emotional but I'm really happy with our team and I can say that I know we went out with no regrets and that's all we can ask of ourselves and I wouldn't trade this for the world."
Jorde LaFontaine-Kussmann: "I have never had a more wonderful experience. This has been the most amazing three years I have ever had. We played our hearts out and it didn't fall our way but that's how soccer is sometimes. But through it all I'm proud to be a Husky and that's all that matters."
Sarah Martinez: "It's the most amazing group of girls you could ever imagine. It was the best four years. It was kind of rocky for me with injuries but I have no regrets and that's one thing I can say and I'm so fortunate to have come here and be around the team, coaches, staff, administration and everyone that I've been around."
