LOS ANGELES - Junior Niki Williams (Mission Viejo, Calif.) hit a two-run home run in the seventh, but it wasn't enough as the No. 9/10 UW softball team fell 5-2 to the No. 11/13 UCLA Bruins at Easton Stadium in Los Angeles Friday night.

With the loss, the Huskies have now lost four-straight and fall to 30-8 and 5-6 in the Pac-10 while UCLA improves to 31-9 and 7-4.

After nearly being no-hit in the series opener on Friday, the Huskies outhit the Bruins in game two, 10-7. Sophomore Maggie Wagner (Woodinville, Wash.) led the team with three hits for the first multi-hit game of her career.

Jessica Hall, a freshman for UCLA got the start in the circle, her first outing against the Huskies. She picked up the win, going 4.0 innings and allowing five hits. Senior Donna Kerr pitched in relief, allowing two runs.

The two runs for UW were the first in the series. Senior Jenn Salling (Port Coquitlam, B.C.) scored on the shot by Williams.

UCLA got its runs in the first, third and sixth innings, all off of home runs. Andrea Harrison hit a two-run home run in the first. Alyssa Tiumalu hit a solo shot in the third and B.B. Bates hit a two-run bomb in the sixth.

The Huskies left the bases loaded in the second and sixth innings.

Sophomore catcher Shawna Wright (Lancaster, Calif.) was second on the team with two hits.

Freshman Kaitlin Inglesby (Portland, Ore.) got her second start in as many nights, taking the loss. She is now 18-5 on the year after allowing five earned runs on seven hits.
