
Huskies Drop Game One At Stanford

STANFORD, Calif. - In game one of the final Pac-12 series of the season for UW, the No. 14/15 Huskies dropped a 4-0 contest at No. 19/21 Stanford at Smith Family Stadium Friday night.
The Huskies (36-15, 7-14) had six hits in the game off of Cardinal starter Teagan Gerhart (29-10). Stanford (34-16, 7-12) had eight hits, five off of starter Kaitlin Inglesby (18-10). The sophomore pitcher from Portland, Ore., allowed three runs and struck out five in 3.2 innings. Fellow sophomore Bryana Walker (La Quinta, Calif.) pitched 2.1 innings in relief, allowing one run on three hits.
Stanford took a 3-0 lead in the fourth as Ashley Hansen led off with a single. Jenna Rich was hit by a pitch and Corey Hanewich singled to drive in two more.
Jena Becerra scored the fourth run for Stanford in the sixth inning on a fielder's choice against Walker.
Husky sophomore Victoria Hayward had a team-high two hits. Kimi Pohlman, Nikia Williams, Kimberlee Souza and Jenna Clifton also had hits in the game.
