COACH BENDER ON JOSH BARNARD
"Josh Barnard is a pure 3-point shooter, the purest 3-point shooter that we have had on our roster. He has great range and shoots with flawless fundamentals. The added bonus is that he has played a number of positions so we would have no problem putting the ball in his hands. He creates his own shot because he gets to the basket and is athletic enough to get in the lane and get over the top of people. There are a lot of things that we have struggled with for two years and one of those was our shooting percentage. One thing that Josh brings us is a pure shooter with size. He can get his shot off at any time because of his range. If the defense is set up at the 3-point line he is more than comfortable stepping well behind it. It's the same shot out of his hand every time. Every time the ball leaves his hands you think it's going in. He expects it to go in. That will really help us because it will make us a little more difficult to guard and a little less predictable. We'd like to have a great combination of inside and outside. We want to be able to run, but at the same time run efficient offense at half court. One of the ways you do that is by spreading the defense because of shooting."
