2006-2007 (Senior): One of three seniors on Husky roster...leaves Washington tied with Alex Slovic for most double wins (83) in Husky history...71 career singles wins is 11th most in UW history...was 17-12 in singles and 19-9 in doubles...earned Pac-10 Player of the Week honors with doubles partner Alex Slovic for week of March 19-25 after winning twice in Hawai'i and becoming all-time doubles wins leader at Washington...Chu and Slovic went 47-20 as a doubles tandem in their careers...was 2-3 against ranked foes in singles...lost to Ohio State's Steve Moneke, the nation's No. 1 player, 6-2, 7-5 on Jan. 28...beat No. 40 Haythem Abid of UCLA 6-4, 7-5 to earn the Huskies only point against the Bruins on March 31...beat No. 74 Richard Wire of Stanford in three sets on April 7...went 2-2 in fall doubles action and 4-3 in singles during the fall. 2005-2006 (Junior): Earned his second consecutive Pac-10 All-Academic honor...recognized as a 2006 Athur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar and team's Art Langley Scholar Award winner...compiled a 22-11 record in singles play...22 singles wins was second most on team...went 3-1 against ranked opponents throughout the season...held a No. 5 national ranking in doubles with teammate Alex Slovic surpassing the previous school record of No. 9 held by Eric Drew and Robert Kendrick in 1999...went 26-11 in doubles action and finished the season ranked No. 17 with Slovic...his 26 doubles wins were the second most in Husky single-season history...reached the doubles final at the Fresno State Bulldog Classic with brother David Chu...paired up with Slovic to win the ITA Regional Doubles Championship...Chu and Slovic reached the ITA National Indoor Doubles Quarterfinal...won a three-set match over Arizona's Bruno Alcala to clinch the contest for the Huskies. 2004-2005 (Sophomore): Earned first-team Pac-10 All-Academic honors...with Alex Slovic finished the season with a final ITA doubles rank of 17th and had a season high ranking of No. 15...compiled a doubles record of 20-14 including a 12-6 mark with Slovic...went 14-12 in singles...11-9 in dual singles action, playing mainly in the No. 4 spot where he was 5-7...went 2-1 in the No. 2 slot and 4-1 at No. 3...was 1-1 against ranked opponents in singles and 6-3 against ranked doubles opponents...advanced to the second round of the NCAA Doubles Championship with Slovic...duo was ousted by third-ranked Sam Warburg and KC Corkery of Stanford (6-3, 6-4)...also was a Pac-10 Doubles Finalist, falling to Warburg and Corkery in the championship (8-6)...the Chu/Slovic duo pulled an upset over third-ranked Warburg and Corkery in a Pac-10 dual match during the regular season, a key victory that helped the Huskies defeat Stanford for the third time in school history...with Slovic defeated the No. 11 team of Patrick Briaud and Conor Niland to help the Huskies notch a win over No. 29 Cal...in singles, upset 84th-ranked Dontia Haines to help the Huskies clinch a dual win over San Diego State. 2003-2004 (Freshman): Third on the team in combined singles and doubles wins with 36...compiled an 18-12 singles record and was 13-8 in dual play...started the season mainly at No. 4 singles where he went 8-2, before moving up to No. 3 singles and earning a 4-6 record...began dual play with a seven-match win streak...earned big win over Harvard's No. 77 Cliff Nguyen in UW's 4-2 victory in the National Team Indoors...won 12 of the first 15 matches of his college career...picked up highest-ranked win with a straight-set upset of UCLA's Chris Lam, who finished No. 66 in the final rankings...notched four wins in Pac-10 play, all but one at the No. 3 singles spot...teamed with Nick Weiss and Alex Vlaski to go 18-11 in doubles play...finished 27th in final ITA doubles rankings with Vlaski...after midseason lineup shift, upset No. 10 duo from TCU in first match with Vlaski...earned four wins over doubles teams ranked in the ITA top 20...earned an NCAA Doubles Championships berth with Vlaski, but lost in the first round.

Advice to youngsters that want to play tennis: Anything worth achieving takes hard work, dedication, and sacrifices. Arrange your priorities and put all you're efforts into them. Failure is only an oppotunity to learn, so be mindful. Lastly, have fun -- you will not survive if you don't enjoy the game.

Chu...Ten-time Junior National Canadian champion...member of Canadian Junior National Team...ranked No. 1 in both singles and doubles in Canadian junior rankings...played in many ITF junior tournaments...won singles and doubles of Vancouver ITF in 2002...took fifth place at 2000 World Youth Cup held in Chile...parents, Keith and Athena, are both teachers...brother David is a sophomore on the team.
