
Three Huskies Named As Academic All-District Selections

SEATTLE – Rohan Belday, Brett Pearson, and Soham Purohit of Washington Men's Tennis have earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors.
The award is one of the highest honors that combines both athletic and academic achievements. To be named to the team, members must have a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA and have significant on-court contributions.
Brett Pearson is being honored for a second season in a row. With Rohan Belday and Soham Purohit being named for the first time in their careers. Soham is the lone Husky that has qualified for Academic All-American consideration.
This season, Soham went 33-12 in singles and doubles, spending the entire season at the No. 1 spot in singles and doubles alongside Brett Pearson. Purohit would be named Washington's Big Ten Player to Watch and would debut the season ranked at 121st in singles and 63rd with Brett Pearson. Soham would reach the individual NCAA Championships after winning the ITA Northwest Regional in the Spring. Soham is working towards his degree in Informatics.
Brett spent most of the season at the No. 4 singles spot and was a mainstay of the doubles No. 1 with Soham, going 11-5 in doubles while being ranked for the majority of the season. The duo would have their best of the win of the season in the match agaisnt Michigan State, beating the 27th ranked duo. On his Senior Day match, Brett would close his Husky career with a singles victory to bring his all-time Husky win total to 83. Brett will graduate with multiple degree's in Information Systems & Operation Supply Chain Management.
Rounding out the trio, Rohan posted 17 wins from both singles and doubles play on the year. Rohan would hold down the No. 3 for the Huskies, up from the No. 5 and 6 last season. Rohan would be named the UW Male Athletics Representive for the Big Ten SAAC, while joining Brett and Soham in making the Dean's List in both the Autumn and Winter Quarter this year. Belday would also be named the Washington recipient of the Big Ten's Sportmanship Award. Rohan is working towards his degree in Political Economy.
