Prugh Second After Two Rounds In HoustonHUMBLE, Texas -- Husky grad Alex Prugh finds himself tied for second after two rounds of the Shell Houston Open and in prime position to earn his way into next week's Masters field. The Spokane native shot a 6-under-par 66 on Friday and is -8 (136) overall for the tournament being held at Redstone Golf Course outside of Houston. Bryce Molder equaled Prugh's 66 and leads the tourney at 9-under-par overall. Their 66's are the best by any of the competitors through the first two days. With the winner automatically qualifying for the Master's, Prugh came out and played spectacular golf. He teed off from the back nine and went 3-under on his first nine. Prugh added a birdie on No. 1 before he got into trouble on the third hole. Off the tee on the 398-yard Par 4 he found the right rough and had to put his second shot just back onto the fairway. His third shot found the sand located to the right of the green and his pitch from there went 17-feet past the hole. He two putted from there and was forced to mark a double bogey on his scorecard. Prugh bounced back valiantly from there and for the second-consecutive day made hay on four of the next five holes. Just like in the the first round, Prugh would birdie No. 4 and then No. 6 through 8.
