Huskies Continue Strong Play at Bulldog Invite

SPOKANE, Wash. --- The Washington women's tennis team finished the second day of play at the Bulldog Invite on Saturday. The Dawgs continued their dominant play, with two Huskies reaching the championship match in the Blue Singles flight, as well as having two teams reach the championship match in the Zag Doubles Draw.Β
Senior Kenadi Hance advanced to the championship match in the Blue Singles Draw, beating Stephanie Broussard of Eastern Washington 6-3, 6-1. Junior Katarina Kopcalic also advanced to the championship match, defeating Zoey Nelson from Eastern Washington 6-4, 6-2.
Freshman Nika Zupancic lost in the Red Singles Draw semifinals to Haruna Tsuruta from Gonzaga 5-7, 2-6. Freshman Delara Zamani dropped her semifinal match to Domonique Garley of Gonzaga 6-2, 1-6, 4-10.
Junior Abbey Watanabe lost against WaiteΒ from Eastern WashingtonΒ 7-5, 5-7, 3-10 in the White Singles Draw.
In the Zag Doubles Draw, Kopcalic/Zupancic reached the championship match by beating Tsuruta/Ketels of Gonzaga 6-2. The Husky pair of Hance/Zamani also reached the championship match, by winning their semifinal match against Spataro/Chen from Idaho 6-4.Β
