Plain Records Second Straight No Hitter In Win Over Seattle U

SEATTLE – Gabbie Plain become the first Husky in program history to record back-to-back no-hitters as she blanked Seattle U in a 1-0 Washington win. Plain carried a perfect game into the seventh inning before allowing a walk with two outs, Seattle's only baserunner all game.
Plain was dominant from the first pitch, retiring the first 20 batters she faced in the game. The sophomore struck out ten batters and let only four balls reach the outfield the entire day, all resulting in easy flyouts.
This was Plain's second consecutive no-hitter. She also no-hit Northern Illinois this weekend in her previous appearance and has now allowed no hits in her last 17.1 innings pitched.
Taryn Atlee scored the game's only run, coming home on a passed ball in the fifth. She had two singles in the game, as did Morganne Flores and Kaija Gibson.
Washington begins Pac-12 play next week as they play host to UCLA, with game one of that series set for March 15 at 7:00 pm.
