McPherson-Loreen Win Corban Pairs Tourney

SEATTLE โ Senior Shayne McPherson became the winningest beach volleyball player in Washington history today, as she and partner Chloe Loreen completed a 5-0 opening weekend to win the Gold Bracket at a pairs tournament hosted by Corban University in Salem.

McPherson and Loreen won three times today and didn't drop a set this week to win the top bracket in a tournament that included the host Corban Warriors, Boise State, and Portland.

McPherson has now totaled 49 career wins on the beach, moving her past Courtney Schwan who held the record since 2018 with 47 wins.

In the semifinals, McPherson and Loreen went up against teammates Scarlett Dahl and Natalie Robinson, who had a win over a Pilots duo in the quarters. McPherson and Loreen edged out their teammates, 21-15, 21-18, to make the final.

In the final, McPherson and Loreen knocked off Martin/Wilson of Boise State, 21-18, 21-19.

In the silver bracket, Cassidy Schilling and Hannah Yerex had a three set quarterfinal win over a Corban duo before coming up short in the semis to a Broncos duo.
