SEATTLE - The Husky Beach Volleyball squad makes its dual match debut this weekend in Tucson as part of the Pac-12 South Invitational, which will be televised live on the Pac-12 Networks Bay Area channel, or streamed live on Pac-12.com and the Pac-12 App.
The Huskies have had two weeks since their season-opening tournament at Corban University, won by Shayne McPherson and Chloe Loreen. Washington will now get a quick dose of dual play with two matches Saturday and two more Sunday against some Pac-12 rivals.
First up the Huskies will take on Arizona State at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday morning. The Sun Devils are 3-4 thus far and have a somewhat common opponent in Boise State, which took part in the Corban Pairs tourney. Boise State earned a 3-2 win over ASU. The Sun Devils have defeated Colorado Mesa, Stephen F. Austin, and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
At 3:15 p.m. on Saturday the Dawgs will face their first ranked opponent in California. The 11th-ranked Bears are 5-2 thus far and are coming off a 4-1 win over No. 6 Hawaii. Their only losses are to No. 4 UCLA and No. 7 LMU.
Utah will be up first on Sunday at 9 a.m. The Utes come in with a 2-8 record, having earned wins over Southeastern Louisiana and The Master's University. Utah was swept by Boise State.
Washington wraps up the weekend against 18th-ranked Stanford at 3:15 p.m. on Sunday. The Cardinal have won six in a row to get to 7-3, and just posted 4-1 wins over both Hawaii and Arizona State followed by a 3-2 win over No. 8 Grand Canyon.
