
Woods Named 2022 OMA&D Scholar Athlete

SEATTLE -- Washington Women's Soccer senior MaKayla Woods has been named the 2022 Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity's Scholar Athlete award winner. Woods joins Kaylene Pang, Havana McElvaine and Tina Frimpong-Ellertson as women's soccer student-athletes to earn the award.
In the classroom, Woods has been a leader. She will graduate in June with a degree in sociology and a minor in diversity and education. Following graduation, Woods will pursue her master's in social work. She has twice been named to the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll and has made the Dean's List eight times. She also received the 2020 Husky Core Values Award; an award given to student-athletes who represent the values of grit, growth mindset, committed service and humility.
A four-year contributor on the field, the Vancouver, Wash. forward has played in over 30 games and scored twice in her career.
