Washington Falls To California In Berkeley

BERKELEY, Calif. – Washington women's basketball (11-2, 1-1 Pac-12) fell to California (11-3, 1-1 Pac-12) 57-70 Friday night at Haas Pavilion in Berkeley, Calif.
In the first game of 2024, the Huskies couldn't quite catch the Golden Bears on a hot shooting night.
"I thought Cal played really well tonight," head coach Tina Langley said. "We will learn a ton from this game that will help us continue to improve on both ends of the floor."
Elle Ladine, the Bay Area native, led all scorers with a career high 24 points. The other Husky in double digit scoring was Lauren Schwartz, who finished with 10.
Dalayah Daniels recorded a game-high and season-high four blocks, adding a team-leading seven rebounds and tying the game high of four assists.
Washington out-rebounded Cal 36-33. Sayvia Sellers had a career high five rebounds. Hannah Stines also had five rebounds, and added seven points.
Up next, Washington continues their Bay Area trip with a game at No. 8 Stanford on Sunday, Jan. 7 at 1 p.m. PT.
