
Dawgs Take Down Ducks On Montlake

SEATTLE – Washington women's basketball (14-12, 4-11 Pac-12) defeated rival Oregon (11-17, 2-13) 74-66 Friday night in Alaska Airlines Arena.
Senior Lauren Schwartz got the scoring started with back-to-back three-pointers, and by halftime already had 13 points, going 3-3 from three. She finished the game leading the team in scoring with 17 points, and added three assists and three steals.
Dalayah Daniels had a career milestone kind of night, posting two blocks to record 101 blocks as a Husky, which put her at No. 3 in the UW career blocked shots Top-10. In 60 games, she became the second-fastest player in program history to reach the milestone.
Daniels finished with 16 points and eight rebounds.
The first half was a fight as both teams battled to take control.
Freshman Ari Long hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to give UW the 31-27 lead going into halftime, and the bench erupted.
Another freshman, Olivia Anderson, had a big night, scoring a career high 10 points and showing a lot of physicality.
A third Husky freshman, Sayvia Sellers, had an incredibly impressive 10 assists. Sellers also had seven points, four rebounds, and two steals.
With the third quarter coming to a close in a tight game, Jayda Noble hit a last-second layup as time expired to tie it at 48.
The fourth quarter was a physical one as both teams battled to finish it. The Huskies went on a 6-0 run, and the energy in the building was electric.
Hannah Stines was the fourth Husky in double-digit scoring with 13 points.
Washington shot 44.8%, while the Husky defense forced 18 turnovers.
