Schedule
Women's 6,000m (featuring UW): 7:20 a.m. PT
Men's 10,000m: 8:10 a.m. PT
SEATTLE – For the 19th consecutive season, the Husky women's cross country team has reached the final starting line. The Dawgs are one of 32 teams that will line up at the NCAA Cross Country Championships this Saturday morning in Columbia, Missouri, and race around the 6,000-meter long course to decide the national championship and All-Americans for 2025.
The women's championship race will go off at 7:20 a.m. Pacific time, locally in Missouri at 9:20 a.m. ESPNU will broadcast the meet live from the Gans Creek Cross Country Course. This is the first time that Missouri has hosted the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
The Huskies go into the championships ranked 27th nationally, but UW will be aiming to outrun that number. Under Head Coach Maurica Powell, now in her eighth season leading UW, the Huskies have never finished outside the top-20 at NCAAs. Powell has led the Huskies to top-10 finishes in 2018 (9th) and 2023 (8th). UW could look to the 2021 season for inspiration. That year they were ranked 23rd going into NCAAs but finished 11th-place on the day.
Washington advanced to NCAAs with an at-large bid, after a fifth-place finish at NCAA West Regionals on Nov. 15. Three Huskies earned All-West Region honors at that race, as Mia Cochran led the Huskies in 11th-place, followed by Abby DeVeau in 15th and Chloe Foerster in 17th.
Two weeks earlier at Big Tens, Foerster led the squad in 11th-place, while Maeve Stiles was 15th and DeVeau was 19th overall, all earning All-Big Ten Second Team honors to help the Huskies finish fourth. Leading up to Big Tens, the Huskies were fourth at the Loyola Lakefront Invitational on Oct. 3 in Chicago, and 13th overall at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational on Oct. 17.
The women will run the same seven as at the Regional meet, going with Cochran, DeVeau, Foerster, Stiles, Jenica Swartz, Sam Tran, and Josephine Welin.
Last season, the women finished 13th with Maeve Stiles leading the squad in 59th overall. Stiles and Foerster are the only women back from a year ago.
USTFCCCA All-America honors go to runners that finish in the top-40.
