Massive Second Half Lifts Huskies Over Huskers

LINCOLN, NE – The Washington women's basketball team ran away with its second straight victory with a dominant 83-62 road win over Nebraska inside Pinnacle Bank Arena.
The Huskies (16-12, 7-9 Big Ten) handed the Huskers their fourth loss at home this year as Nebraska dropped to 18-10 (9-8 B1G).
Elle Ladine exploded for 28 points for her second straight game to lead all scorers, hitting 11-of-18 shots and four triples.
The junior needed 16 points to reach 1,000 in her career, which she reached late in the second quarter on a long three-point shot to beat the shot clock buzzer.
She also added four rebounds and four assists in 32 minutes of action.
Dalayah Daniels did major damage on both ends of the floor, finishing with a 21-point, 10 rebound double-double. She also tied two career-highs with five assists and five steals.
Hannah Stines added six points, six rebounds, and five assists as the junior played all but two minutes of the afternoon, recording her 200th career assist in the first quarter.
The Huskies remained tied at 21-21 after one quarter of play and were up a pair at the half (39-37) before charging on an offensive tear in the second half.
Washington dominated Nebraska 21-5 in the third frame led by Daniels with nine, holding the Huskers to their lowest point total in a quarter this season. Capped by a 15-0 Husky run to end the third, the Dawgs took an 18-point lead heading into the final 10 minutes.
Leading by as many as 28 with just under four to play, the Huskies used a 66.7 percent shooting mark in the final frame to outlast the home team 23-20.
Washington outscored Nebraska 50-26 in the paint and notched 23 points off 15 Husker turnovers.
The Huskies also dished out 16 assists and recorded a season-low five turnovers.
The Dawgs shot 54.7 percent from the field on the game and 62.5 percent in the second half.
Across the last two games in both UW wins over Rutgers and Nebraska, Daniels has averaged 21.5 points per game, nine rebounds, and 69.0 percent from the field.
Ladine in the last two has averaged 28 points on 62.9 percent shooting, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game.
The Huskies continue the road trip to Minnesota for their last regular season road game. UW will take on the Gophers on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 5 p.m. PT on B1G+.
