Washington Earns No. 5 Seed In Big Ten Tournament

SEATTLE β Washington will be the No. 5 seed in the Big Ten Tournament, the conference announced on Saturday. The Big Ten Tournament is scheduled for May 20-25 at Charles Schwab Field Omaha.

The 12-team tournament will determine the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament. Oregon and UCLA clinched a share of the Big Ten Championship on the last day of the season Saturday with Oregon earning the No. 1 seed based on a tiebreaker.

This year's tournament will incorporate pool play with four groups consisting of three teams each. The four pool winners will meet in the single-elimination semifinals on May 24, followed by the championship game on May 25.Β
Washington is in a three-team pool including No. 4 USC and No. 9 Penn State. The Huskies first game of pool play will be against No. 9 Penn State on Wednesday, May 21. Washington will then face No. 4 USC on Friday May 23.Β
With wins in both games, the Huskies can advance to a semifinal game on May 24.
