
Coleman Named Semifinalist For William V. Campbell Trophy

Washington senior running back Jonah Coleman has been named a semifinalist for the 2025 William V. Campbell Trophy, college football's premier scholar-athlete award.
To be nominated for the Campbell Trophy, a student-athlete must be a senior who will complete his final year of eligibility in 2025 or a graduate student who has already earned a degree. They must have a GPA of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale. The nominee also has to have an outstanding football ability as a first team player or significant contributor and demonstrate strong leadership and citizenship.
Coleman is one of 177 semifinalists, including 78 nominees from FBS.
In the classroom, Coleman boasts a 3.93 GPA while working towards his degree in education studies: sports and education, which he will earn in December. To learn more about Coleman's academic journey click here to watch a feature from Big Ten Network.
On the field, Coleman leads the nation with nine rushing touchdowns, 10 total touchdowns and 60 total points scored. Coleman has rushed for 347 yards over three games while also caught eight passes for 150 yards. His 174.33 all-purpose yards per game ranks second in the FBS. Twice this season Coleman has been named Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week and was earned the Doak Walker National Running Back of the Week after his performance against Colorado State.
The National Football Foundation will announce 12-16 finalists on Oct. 22. Each finalist will receive a $18,000 postgraduate scholarship as a member of the 2025 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Class. The finalists will travel to the Bellagio Resort & Casino in Las Vegas for the 67th NFF Annual Awards Dinner Presented by Las Vegas on Dec. 9, where their accomplishments will be highlighted in front of one of the most powerful audiences in all of sports. Live during the event, one member of the class will be declared as the winner of the 36th Campbell Trophy® and have his postgraduate scholarship increased to $25,000.
