SEATTLE -- UW Volleyball will take the floor again at Alaska Airlines Arena this weekend, trying to tack on two more wins to its Big Ten total. Coming off its farthest road trip of the season, 20th-ranked Washington now plays six of its next eight matches at home, where the Dawgs will try to bring their best and defend home court to stay near the top of the conference.
Currently in a four-way tie for fourth with a 4-2 record, the Huskies (13-2 overall) will take on Rutgers this Friday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m. and then measure up against 18th-ranked Indiana on Sunday, Oct. 18, at 2 p.m. Both matches will be live streamed via Big Ten Plus.
The Dawgs remained at No. 20 in the AVCA coaches poll this week after a road split where they swept Ohio State but were then swept at No. 18 Penn State in University Park. In the RPI, Washington moved up one spot despite the loss, to No. 9.
The Scarlet Knights are 10-8 on the season and 1-5 in conference play thus far. In their past three losses, however, Rutgers has won a set against ranked Indiana and Minnesota squads, and a receiving votes UCLA team, falling in four sets each time. They are hitting .242 on the year and holding opponents to .218. In conference play, Rutgers' attacking has dropped to .214 and opponents are hitting .290. In the last match against UCLA, Karis Willow hit .500 with 13 kills. Willow is second in the Big Ten with 0.61 aces per set. Kenzie Dyrstad ranks seventh with 3.77 digs per set. Malia Romes leads the team with 2.74 kills per set and is hitting .290.
Indiana was an NCAA Sweet 16 team a year ago, and has been ranked all throughout 2026 thus far. The Hoosiers are 10-5 and 3-3 in conference, dropping a pair last week against No. 1 Nebraska and USC. Indiana has wins over UCLA, Rutgers, and Maryland, and a tough 2-3 loss to No. 6 Wisconsin. Indiana is hitting .262 for the season and holding teams to a .227 mark, and in conference play those numbers are still exactly .262 on offense, and .253 on defense. Setter Teodora Krickovic is 4th in the Big Ten with 10.76 assists per set and she leads IU with 20 aces. Jaidyn Jager is 10th in kills per set with 3.43, hitting .225. Ella Boersma adds 2.69 kills/set and is hitting .356.
