October 02, 2026 | Beach Volleyball
SEATTLE — Coming off its second season competing in the MPSF, the Washington beach volleyball team returns to the sand this week at Alki Beach for the Alki Fall Classic, set for Oct. 3-4. The Huskies will compete alongside Boise State, Oregon, Saint Mary's, Portland and Corban in the pairs tournament.

At the conclusion of last season, Steve McFadden was named Washington's official head coach after serving as the program's interim head coach throughout the 2025-26 season. McFadden leads a roster that welcomes back nine players from last season's squad while adding five newcomers, including three freshmen and two transfers.
This is the fifth year that fall play has been included in the NCAA beach volleyball calendar. While the spring remains the focal point for dual-match competition, the fall provides developmental opportunities and features qualifying events for the AVCA Pairs National Championship, set for Nov. 6-8 in Huntsville, Ala.
The Alki Fall Classic is the first of three qualifying events for Washington this season. The Huskies will head to Manhattan Beach, Calif., for the SCE West Coast Championships Oct. 9-11, followed by the Surf City Collegiate Challenge in Huntington Beach, Calif., Oct. 24-25.
