Red-Hot Shooting Night Leads Dawgs Past Gophers 69-57

SEATTLE – Washington snapped its skid on Saturday with a blistering shooting night, toppling Minnesota 69-57 at Alaska Airlines Arena.
The Huskies shot 63 percent in the contest, the team's best shooting performance since 2017 and second best since 2006.
Hannes Steinbach led the way with 26 points for this 11th 20-point game of the season. He also grabbed nine rebounds and added three steals and a pair of blocks.
UW closed the first half on a 14-0 run and led 39-26 at halftime after shooting 66.7 percent in the first half.
Zoom Diallo, Franck Kepnang and Courtland Muldrew each started the game a perfect 3-for-3 from the floor.
The Huskies outrebounded the Gophers 30-21 and outscored them in the paint 44-26.
Wesley Yates III tied a career high with four steals.
The Dawgs get a few extra days of rest before embarking on a cross-country trip to Maryland. They'll take on the Terrapins next Saturday at noon PT before heading to Rutgers.
