April 23, 2026 | Men's Basketball
SEATTLE – Washington has announced the Huskies' latest addition through the transfer portal, inking veteran guard Ryan Beasley from San Francisco.
A Second Team All-WCC selection in 2025-26, Beasley will bring a veteran presence to Montlake after three productive seasons for the Dons.
"Ryan has elite speed and an elite ability to put the ball in the basket," Sprinkle said. "He's been one of the most dynamic guards in the WCC the past couple of years. We're very fortunate to get someone who can create and score, get the ball in the paint and find teammates. He was one of the top point guards on our board. His ability to score the basketball is something we need in the Big Ten."
In his first campaign as a full-time starter for USF this past season, Beasley broke out with team-high averages of 13.6 points and 4.0 assists per game, ranking sixth in the WCC with a 2.43 assist-to-turnover ratio.
The California native shot .407 from the field, including .327 from behind the arc on 150 attempts. Beasley converted 82.7 percent of his free throws during his junior season, bringing his career percentage to 83.9.
Beasley registered double figure scoring in 21 of 31 games, including seven 20-plus point performances.
In an early test against Big Ten opposition, Beasley converted 8-of-13 attempts, including 4-of-6 from behind the arc, en route to 24 points and four assists in San Francisco's upset of Minnesota.
Beasley posted a career-high 32 points over 43 minutes at LMU, also grabbing six rebounds and dishing out three assists. A game after setting a new career-high with 11 assists versus Pacific, Beasley made 21-of-24 free throws on the way to 30 points and seven boards in the rematch with the Lions.
As a sophomore, Beasley made four starts and appeared in 29 games for USF, registering averages of 9.0 points, 2.4 assists and 2.4 rebounds as one of the Dons' primary options off the bench. Averaging seven shots a game, the San Ramon native garnered a career-best .443 shooting percentage.
In his standout performance of the season, Beasley knocked in 10-of-15 attempts, including four threes, racking up 29 points with four rebounds and three assists in San Francisco's WCC Tournament win over Washington State.
Beasley was named the WCC's Freshman of the Year following the 2023-24 season, averaging 7.8 points over 22.3 minutes per game off the bench. The 5-11 guard was named the league's Freshman of the Week three times, including the final two after averaging 14.0 points on 48.4 percent shooting against Pepperdine, Gonzaga and Santa Clara.
Beasley earned MaxPreps Second Team California All-State as a high school senior, averaging 24.3 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists. The previous season, Beasley was named the San Francisco Chronicle's Co-Contra Cost/Tri-Valley Player of the Year, ranking fourth in the state in scoring at 30.6 points per game.
