Washington Adds Rutgers Transfer Harun Zrno

SEATTLE โ Washington head men's basketball coach Danny Sprinkle has announced the signing of transfer guard Harun Zrno.

Zrno, a native of Bosnia and Herzegovina, spent his first collegiate season at fellow Big Ten foe Rutgers, making 34 appearances and 15 starts for the Scarlet Knights.

"Harun is a tremendous piece to add late, with great size and shooting ability," Sprinkle said."ย He showed his potential with some really good games as a freshman at Rutgers last year, especially his three-point shooting ability."

Zrno scratched the surface of his abilities during his freshman campaign in Piscataway, averaging 6.5 points per game in just over 19 minutes of action, shooting 35.6 percent from the floor and 33.8 percent from behind the arc.

The 6-7 guard demonstrated glimpses of his sharpshooting capabilities during his rookie season, posting 11 games with three or more makes from three-point range, including a season-high 21 points on 5-of-9 from deep at Wisconsin in January.

Some of Zrno's best performances of the season came against the Big Ten's best, scoring 13 points in back-to-back games against Purdue and eventual national champion Michigan, adding four rebounds against the Wolverines.

Later in the season, the Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, native tallied 16 points on 6-of-10 from the floor, including 4-of-8 from three, and chipped in four rebounds against Michigan State.

"Having Big Ten experience and making the typical freshman to sophomore year Jump will help Harun have a great year for us," Sprinkle said. "He fits around a lot of different lineups because of his offensive versatility and shooting."

Prior to joining the Scarlet Knights, Zrno spent the 2024-25 season with KK Slavija in the Basketball Championship of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the country's top professional division. With Slavija, Zrno averaged 17.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists over 14 games, converting 56 percent from the field, 46 percent from three, and 77 percent from the free-throw line.
